Stephanie Duston is working on her PhD at Virginia Tech studying soils. Given her soil background, naturally, she fell in love with clay and has pursued ceramics as her primary art “hobby” since 2016. The focus of her work is to make functional pieces for everyday use. She loves adding tactile feel to her work, so most of her pieces are carved and textured in some way, with matte and glossy glaze painted on in layers. She has also been playing with underglaze designs as well!
You can find a small selection of her pottery at the store year-round.
Aunt Carol's Sauce is a family recipe and welcome to your number one source for sauce on all meats, seafood and vegetables. Aunt Carol's Sauce is dedicated to providing families the most authentic, unique tasting experience to share with the ones they love. Carol Ann Morgan Scott created her special sauce at the age of 17. She made this sauce only for her family when they had their seafood night. One thing is for sure the family never ate seafood without her special sauce. In 2018, her nephew, Tahjere Lewis, was going away to college and he asked his Aunt Carol where could he purchase the delicious sauce.
She responded "Baby, I make it." He was so astonished and he zealously expressed how huge her sauce could be and that it should be in every store around the world. He promised her that after he graduated from college they would make their dream into a reality. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, during his freshman year, his loving aunt passed away. He remembered his promise and somehow he conjured up the recipe from family. He hosted a seafood tasting event at his dorm with 100 surveys. The student’s reactions were priceless and emotional for Tahjere. He knew at that moment, Aunt Carol’s Sauce would be the the new household sauce staple.

William Bellamy's wife Rose Mary never liked condiments so when he retired from the military he made it his mission to create something she'd love. From a love for his wife Grandpa Foods was born.
Grandpa Foods' apple butter based sauces are a sharp departure from the tomato based barbecue sauces that dominate the market. Because the sauces don't contain tomatoes, they're great for people with acid reflux or heartburn. All of the products are gluten free and certified as Virginia's Finest. The barbecue sauce is the condiment for every occasion.
Grandpa Foods seasoning blends are light and flavorful which allow them to pair great with our sauces or stand alone. We believe the uniqueness of our products and their flavor profiles will make them stand out as an attractive alternative to the current offerings in the market.
Christiansburg Institute was a school for African Americans in Christiansburg from 1866-1966. Beginning in 2018, the Christiansburg Institute and Montgomery Museum of Art & History staff began to organize and take meaningful action in order to preserve and increase awareness about Montgomery County's deeply rich African American history and culture. The group set out to do this work by determining a set of shared values that would guide the project; truth-telling, honesty, and reconciliation, specifically around challenging and contested histories where generational harm and racial trauma is ongoing and narratives are competing. The desired outcome of the work will be to erect three new history and educational storyboards in Downtown Christiansburg.
As a hemp business focused on education and transparency, it is important to us to have conversations about the history of cannabis prohibition and the fact that it disproportionately hurts people of color. As a business also heavily focused on supporting local, it only makes sense to us to support the telling of black history locally; the telling of stories that haven’t been told enough. One of our contributions to Christiansburg Institute a couple of years ago was our largest donation to date!
