(CI,Inc.) is a grassroots 501(c)3 cultural heritage and historic preservation non-profit organization with a mission of community education, intergenerational empowerment, and the responsible stewardship of African American history, stories, and culture.
Their purpose is the preservation and reopening of the Virginia Landmark & Historic Edgar A. Long Building, and sharing widely the 100-year story of the first high school in Southwest Virginia to educate the formerly enslaved, the Christiansburg Industrial Institute.
Christiansburg Industrial Institute was once a 185 acre farm campus with over a dozen buildings. The building circled in this image is The Virginia Landmark & Historic Edgar A. Long Building. This is the building you can see today on Scattergood Drive in Christiansburg, Virginia.
